Just Jinjer has returned home to SA after a decade recording and touring overseas.
Having spent eight years in the USA and two more in London, Just Jinjer is now signed to Curb Records in Nashville and is currently very much a global group with distribution of their music secured around the world. Just Jinjer has returned to SA to build on all that they have achieved locally and on every continent they’ve had the privilege to play on.
Their live shows back on home soil are already seeing their loyal local fans queuing to catch-up and continue the journey with one of this country’s finest songwriters and musicians. With ten years worth of this life experience behind him, lead singer and songwriter Ard Matthews` looks little changed from when he and his band played sold-out shows at The Three Arts in Cape Town or Standard Band Arena in downtown Johannesburg close on 10 years ago. Still with his distinctive dreadlocks in place, this prolific singer and much-admired songwriter continues to write music that the world can relate to in growing numbers.
Fans will be thrilled to hear thatJust Jinjer will be releasing a new E.P. through Sony Music. Songs featured will include an acoustic version of their timeless hit ‘what He means’ and a couple of new songs that the band have recorded specifically for this release. The E.P. will also include some of Just Jinjers’ U.S. recordings like ‘Can I Have More’ and the new single “Milk and Honies”, which has just been serviced to radio and is already receiving support from key stations nationwide. The yet to be titled E.P. is slated for release in November.
.
And if that wasn’t enough good news, the band is set to return to the U.S. for a six-week tour with Vertical Horizon from 18 October to 3 December 2009. Not a band to let their fans down Just Jinjer will fly home, mid USA tour, to perform at the Forbidden Fruit Festival in Worcester on 13 November before winging their way back to the USA to complete the tour.
The balance of 2009 and well into 2010 looks set to be very busy for the band as their touring schedule here and overseas is filling up fast. The North American tour is the perfect warm up to the band’s coastal tour booked for over the festive season, so be sure to check your local papers or go online to www.justjinjer.com for regular updates and tour schedules.
