‘An Evening With Il Divo – Live In Barcelona’

Following IL Divo’s largest worldwide tour to date, which remarkably encompassed 81 cities and 32 countries, they release ‘An Evening With IL Divo – Live In Barcelona’, DVD and an accompanying sublime 10-track CD, out November 30th. This will also be lL Divo’s first live concert release in high definition, as this fantastic DVD will also be released on Blu-ray.
The Barcelona show was IL Divo’s biggest capacity performance in Europe and took place at Palau Sant Jordi (20,000), April 3rd.
The 24-track DVD & Blu-ray boasts rich and diverse repertoire from their five studio albums, featuring songs from their latest record ‘The Promise’. The LP debuted at No.1 in nine countries and sold over 3million copies worldwide in just over 2 months, including 500,000 in the UK.
Accompanying the DVD is a live 10-track CD of the show. The DVD & Blu-ray feature two songs never before recorded by the band, ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ and ‘The Impossible Dream’, as well as insightful behind the scenes footage and a ‘making of the tour’ interview with IL Divo.
The dazzling live show was staged by creative director William Baker (Kylie) on a state of the art set, which also offered fans the chance to sit within the staging for a unique concert experience. IL Divo also continued their relationship with Giorgio Armani, who created their custom designed suits for the show.
Their extraordinary touring exploits throughout 2009 has led to IL Divo being short listed for Billboard’s ‘Breakthrough Award’ alongside Lil Wayne, Kings Of Leon and Taylor Swift. The award recognises the incredible touring breakthroughs of the year, with IL Divo already making it into Pollstar’s Top 10 highest grossing tour rankings (May 28th & June 4th, 2009)
IL Divo’s massive trek kicked off at Manchester’s MEN back in February this year, which was followed by 10 UK dates featuring two shows at London’s O2.
‘An Evening With IL Divo’ then travelled to Europe, North America, South America, Australia, Asia and then back to North America for a series of shows.
IL Divo will finish the year playing a series of intimate shows ‘Celebrate Christmas With IL Divo’, which kicks off with two dates at Hammersmith Apollo (December 7th & 8th) and then travels to North America for six more dates.
