Some info on the new EP release:
Just Jinjer – Milk and Honies
“Just Jinjer – music rich with contemporary urgency and relevance as well as a timelessness and global reach sure to resonate far and wide into the future.”
Just Jinjer’s new 8-track EP Milk and Honies has just been released through Sony Music. Songs featured include an acoustic version of their timeless hit ‘What He Means’ and three new songs which the band recorded specifically for this release.
The EP also features some of Just Jinjer’s US recordings, including “Subject” and the new single “Milk and Honies”, which is already receiving support from key radio stations nationwide.
“Milk and Honies” brings home the distinctive, engaging energy of Just Jinjer as one of SA’s most successful rock bands. After their experience of living in the US and in London for the past ten years, the lyrics of the title track were inspired by Ard’s deep-rooted love for South Africa, “truly the land of Milk and Honies.”
The three new songs were recorded at B-Sharp studios in Boksburg. “Mr. Morgan”; “Lost and Found” and “My My My” introduce the band’s tight new 3-piece sound. If the new outfit’s recent live shows are anything to go by, Just Jinjer is as popular as ever, attracting full houses and huge festival crowds.
“Milk and Honies” is a homecoming EP which bears testimony to Just Jinjer’s fine musicianship, while the melodic simplicity with which Just Jinjer addresses serious socio-political issues makes their music accessible to everyone.
