going to AUCKLAND FOR RWC 2011? -do this

Visit Viaduct Quay – great waterside restaurants & bars, luxury yachts, beautiful on a sunny day and vibrant at night.

Soul and Portofino are two good restaurants there.

Catch a Ferry over to Devonport. Leaves from the FerryBuilding at the bottom of Queen Street. Cheap and a great view of Auckland from the water.

Cin Cin in the FerryBuilding is a great spot for a meal or drink.

Devonport has great old shops & cafes, worth a visit and ferry ride back.

If the weather is good catch a ferry over to WaihekeIsland, playground of the rich & famous. Great wineries, beaches & restaurants.

Shop in Parnell Road. If you like a good curry try O Calcutta restaurant on Parnell Road.

Visit the AucklandMuseum – excellent displays of Maori culture.

Go to the top of the SkyTower for a fantastic view of the city; if you are game go for a bungy jump off it.

Visit the West Coast beaches – Piha and Muriwai – big surf, can be dangerous but great to see

Walk among the sheep and paddocks in CornwallPark, right in the middle of the city, and climb One Tree Hill for a fantastic view.

Take a drive around the Auckland waterfront to MissionBay, have fish and chips on the beach.
