Johnny Clegg and his band are Cape Town at The Zevenwacht Wine Estate on Sun 21st December

Johnny Clegg will be performing with his full band in Cape Town in December, at The Zevenwacht Wine Estate show on Sunday 21st December at 5pm. Gates open at 2pm.

It is a family event with Johnny performing a selection of his greatest hits.

Zevenwacht wine estate have picnic hampers on sale, and will also have a selection of other foods, and beverages on sale, including great craft beer and some of their wines.

No food or beverage will be allowed to be brought in to the Wine Estate.

Camp chairs are allowed but are limited to use on the perimeter of the venue (i.e. cannot be used in centre of the field as this will block view of someone on a picnic blanket behind them)

No gazebos or umbrellas permitted in concert area.

Johnny Clegg recently undertook an extensive 9 week tour of USA and Canada, performing 42 shows in 67 nights and travelling 27,000 kms on a tour bus.

Standard Bank Joy of Jazz honoured Juluka with an award on Saturday 6th September in recognition of the contributions Juluka made as musicians.

On 28th August, Minister of Arts and Culture Mr. Nathi Mthethwa Honoured Johnny Clegg with an award for the contribution he made in the South African Music Industry, as a Musician.

Over Johnny’s 30 year career he released two dozen albums and in early 2014 he released a new unplugged album from his sold out shows at The Baxter Theatre in September 2013, titled JOHNNY CLEGG BEST, LIVE and UNPLUGGED.

Johnny Clegg has sold more than five million albums worldwide. He has wowed audiences with his live shows, including performances with Nelson Mandela, and won a number of national and international awards for his music and for his outspoken views on apartheid and migrant workers in South Africa. He has released two dozen albums, the most recent of which is Human, in 2010.

Johnny Clegg is a dancer, anthropologist, singer, songwriter, academic, activist and French knight. Whilst all of these tags are fitting, none of them can accurately describe the energetic, passionate human being who has become one of South Africa’s greatest musical exports. He has campaigned against the injustice of apartheid South Africa and been instrumental in putting the new South Africa on the map as a cultural ambassador.

Clegg is one of the Icons of South African music.
