After nine years away from the stage, No Friends of Harry, South Africa’s pioneering alternative rock heroes, are back with a special October/November tour and the release of a career-spanning Box Set that will remind fans why they were, and still are, “The Legendary No Friends of Harry.”

Formed in 1986, No Friends of Harry were never just a band—they were a movement. 

Fueled by friendship, raw energy, and a refusal to conform, they exploded out of Johannesburg’s underground clubs and became one of the most iconic acts of the 1980s and 1990s. 

Their debut LP One Came Running (1987) shot to No. 4 on the national charts, while hits like Long Way Home, Competition Rules, Some People and Time became anthems for a generation. Their live shows? Unforgettable. Their audacity? Legendary—who else would stage a free gig on the steps of the Johannesburg Library in 1989?

Now, more than two decades after their official farewell in 1998, No Friends of Harry are giving fans the ultimate gift:

• A once-in-a-lifetime tour, packed with classic songs and the same explosive energy that made them icons.
• A deluxe vinyl Box Set capturing their entire journey—three classic releases plus a fourth album loaded with rarities, live recordings, and previously unreleased tracks.
