This August commemorates 35 years since the release of Big Sky's debut album, Waiting for the Dawn, which profoundly reflected South Africa's late-apartheid struggles. The album, featuring seasoned musicians, gained critical acclaim for its powerful themes of hope and transformation, and remains a significant cultural touchstone. A special concert celebrating this legacy is scheduled for September 13.
On September 13, 2025, Daisy Jones Bar will host "Further On Up The Road," a historic blues reunion featuring South African legends like Steve Louw and Albert Frost. This event celebrates decades of collaboration and shared passion, promising an unforgettable night of music and heartfelt tributes to blues icons. Tickets are available now.
