Blues and Jazz guitarist Elton Goslett will accompany Electro Swing & Electro Blues DJ JP Silver at The Swing Café Variety Show at Café Ganesh in Observatory on Wednesday 25 May.
The pair started collaborating a few months ago at Silver’s weekly Electro Swing Café at Sticks McGee’s in Rondebosch and quickly found an easy rhythm, blending Silver’s Electro Swing & Electro Blues DJ set with Goslett’s Jazz and Blues based improvisation on the guitar.
They recently performed at the Trash Cabaret Carnival of Dreams at Hillcrest Quarry and are busy producing an original single due for release later this year.
Elton is an accomplished versatile guitar player whose style is at the meeting point of Jazz, Blues & Soul.
He plays lead guitar in Mixed Roots, a Jazz Fusion band and has formed a Blues band Black Soul Blues with Auriol Hays. He recently started using live looping to fully explore the electric guitar in a solo show. He currently accompanies several well know Jazz singers in Cape Town as well as collaborating with poets and DJs
When Elton’s not gigging he can be found teaching at the Jazz Workshop.
