Larry George

Born in Mamre on the West Coast hails a young talent that started his musical career as a piano player at the tender age of 9.

Inspired by his dad a saxophonist, Larry George started to fiddle around with the saxophone at 14 years old. Larry George is no slouch when it comes to education as he holds a degree in education, with this degree he hopes to start a music education programme.

This silky saxophonist quickly started to grace the big stages with big cats such as Emo Adams, Bobby Van Jaarsveld, Katlego Maboe, Kurt Darren, Ernie Smith just to name a few.

His career highlight was performing with his iconic legend; Kirk Whalum.

His most memorable performance was at the 2012 SARU Rugby awards and to be part of a production at KKNK ‘Karoo Swing’ with Bobby Van Jaarsveld.

Larry George is set to release his new single ‘God Knows’ early 2018, followed by his own live brass production in June 2018.

He is currently writing new material to roll out an album by December 2018.

This young talented silky saxophonist will be performing his original music as well as some of his favourite cover pieces.

Catch him live with special guest Kay at the Youngblood Art Gallery 70-74 Bree Street Cape Town.

Jazz on Bree is hosted and curated by Esra Overberg in association with Music Exchange
