We speak to Co-b Wyngaard this week

Co-B Wyngaard is an exciting talent who we met in March at the DCAS workshops we did round the W Cape with Heinrich Frans ,Craig Parks and Music Exchange
He is a driven artist who has a beautiful tone and has the drive to achieve

What does music mean to you?

Life and emotion projected through musical expression or sound.

My music is about?

Life in its entirety, personal experiences, inspiring others and living life, proud, loud and positive.

Where do you go for inspiration to create?

I find inspiration in places or situations that force my mind to drift then I channel my emotion into the art.

What is the most enjoyable aspect of your work?

Sharing a part of myself through the creative process and how it takes form with an audience in front on me

The song you must do in every show?

Impossible dream

Any funny moments on stage?

Thinking my mic was off during a performance not realizing the battery of the cordless mic detached somehow during choreography and flew right across the stage into the crowd, hitting a poor lady in the front row, she is still one of my biggest fans today.

My heroes?

My mother is my biggest hero, a strong willed, confident and talented woman who gives me the biggest support with constructive criticism.

She calls me her wonder child and gave me the creative freedom to have been the little outspoken rebel I was.

Other than giving me the best life she could, no matter the challenging circumstances, she installed positive values and morals that form part of the person I am today.

Which living person do you admire most and why?

Lady Gaga has an amazingly high standard and work ethic and passion for her craft that I admire immensely and would love to follow.

What is your most treasured possession?

My Life! A recent near death experience brought fresh perspective and greater appreciation for life. I realize how precious my existence is and the talents I’ve been entrusted with that can be utilized to fulfil my purpose as a creative.

Nicknames?

Born Jacobus Jozias Wyngaard III it soon became Kobi, Coby or Klein Kosie, yet when the music bug bit my stage name Co-b Wyngaard became it

If you were not a musician what would you do?

I established Co-B Entertainment that provides handicraft services and creative solutions, coz you always need a backup!

Who would play you in a Hollywood Blockbuster and why?

Justin Timberlake he represents the caliber of creative standard I’d hope to reach.

Give us some real proper slang and what it means

“Nancy” means “NO”- used by many in the LGBTQAI+ community and a nicer way to say NO without really saying it!

Top of your bucket list?

I’d love to be more of an adrenaline junkie! Sky diving, Shark Cage diving and Paragliding.

Your greatest achievement?

Booking a tribute tour for about two years in the Canary Islands, Majorca, Spain and on a Norwegian Cruise liner.

What do you complain about most often?

I normally adapt to the situation and try to find a solution on the spot rather than complain. No time to complain, the show must go on!

What is your fear?

To be a disappointment!

Happiness is?

Freedom to be myself and to have inner peace.

On stage I tend to?

Give my best! You’re only as good as your last performance!

The best life lesson you have been taught?

To live honestly and that your word is your honor.

Do you get worked up whilst watching a sports game on TV ?

No I do not!

Where would you like to be right now?

In studio writing a hit song or in rehearsal for my next performance.

Do you do charity work and if you do –what do you do?

Yes I love to be involved in the community with Child Welfare Projects and Community Development whether through awareness projects, facilitating workshops, sharing skills, mentorship or motivating young entrepreneurs in art and entertainment.

Wishes and dreams?

My dream is to make a success of my creative talents as a singer, songwriter, creative and artist as my wish is to be able to invest back in my community.
