Anton has been involved in media since 1993, when I wrote my first editorial piece for Student Life Magazine. I’ve produced for print, radio and television, holding key positions in content production and development.
He has worked in several Editor contexts for Dutch-based company World Online (later Tiscali), M-Web, Channel24, Rolling Stone, Men’s Health Living, Best Life and others, also spent a year in corporate Public Relations as an account director for Irvine Partners. There he worked on accounts that included Turkish Airlines, Protea Hotels and Relate Bracelets.
Digital Editor / Editor: Rolling Stone / One Music City November 2011 – April 2014
· Developed key content points and strategies for Rolling Stone South Africa’s online platforms.
· Trained young and developing contributors for digital and print requirements.
· Developed business and project relationships with many festivals and venues including Up the Creek, Protea
Fire and Ice Hotel and others.
· Managed brand presence at events like Cape Tattoo Expo, Up the Creek, Splashy Fen, OppiKoppi (with Google+), Cape Town International Jazz festival and others.
Music Editor: Channel24 2009 – 2011
· Conceived, produced and created key content for News24’s entertainment site, specialising in Music, but also contributing to Movies, News and Gossip content.
· Part of team that successfully integrated formerly standalone Entertainment content into main News24 news
offering.
Music Editor: Tiscali Online, M-Web 1999 – 2004
· Conceived, produced and created key content for these content portals, specialising in Music, but also contributing to Movies and News content.
· Part of a handpicked team to develop initial World Online portal (1999) that included current and former Mail
& Guardian Editors in Chief Chris Roper and Nick Dawes, former Sports Illustrated Editor and author Steve Smith, music journalist and consultant Evan Milton and others. Tiscali was eventually
incorporated into M-Web’s. content offering
