Selcorp Media, Music Exchange (MEX) and Jazzathon have embarked on a joint venture with CCFM for the CCFM Music Academy to celebrate music education .
The world may be in turmoil, recovering from a global pandemic while witnessing war atrocities, yet the youth always remain our future’s hope. This is one of the many reasons these three music industry stalwarts invest time and influence to help shape the next generation of entertainment industry influencers.

The series of talks kicked off on Youth Day, 16 June 2022, with Selcorp Media, MEX and Jazzathon
The powerful trio aim to promote self-employment in the music industry and endorse the accredited CATHSSETA Music Industry Ability Course in 2023. “Our investment is helping creatives succeed,” SelCorp Media founder Selwyn Bartlett explains. “Talent is the first step towards success, but understanding how to steer your career and make a sustainable mark comes from education and training. That’s where we step in and deliver.”

Participants will gain access to workshops held at St Clements School Hall -St Clements way Lotus River until the end of October.
This week’s talk on Saturday 23rd July will focus on publishing and pr and marketing and starts at 10am sharp till 12 noon and is hosted by Selwyn with Martin Myers the speaker .
All sessions will be facilitated by Jazzathon’s Craig Parks, MEX’s Martin Myers and Selwyn Bartlett, along with established Cape Town artists as guest speakers who, collectively, will cover all aspects of the music business.
MEX founder and music industry veteran Martin Myers remains actively invested in the entertainment economy. Having worked at SONY Music for 17 years and today managing artists of the calibre of Siphokazi Jonas, RJ Benjamin, Sipho Hotstix Mabuse, and Dr Trevor Jones for South Africa, his experience is vast and valuable.
“Our workshops deliver content constructed from decades of lived experience,” Martin concludes. “We don’t sugar coat or sanitise any points about the business. We give artists best practice on navigating this challenging business with sage, practical advice on how to do it right.”
